Cornstalks, pumpkins, and apple cider, oh my! It was an absolutely boo-tiful evening of Fall fun for our October social at Szalay’s Farm, in Peninsula. As we waited for everyone to gather, there was time to shop the farm market, overflowing with fresh fruit, cheeses, bread, pies, and pumpkins of all shapes and sizes.
Across the street, a field of cornstalks guarded by a giant skull waited.
The spider-themed maze sparked a competitive spirit as our crew wandered through cornstalks in search of eight pumpkins and, ultimately, the way out!
Thanks to the expert map-reading skills of Tricia Spayer and a few others in our group, we skillfully navigated the maze.
Well, some of us navigated… others followed and tried not to get lost! We celebrated each pumpkin discovery with a victory photo. However, we never found pumpkin number seven–only the empty spot where it was supposed to be.
After the maze, the group headed for a well-earned dinner and refreshments. Because of the crowds at the Winking Lizard, we relocated to Fisher’s Pub on the other side of the street. It may sound corny, but we did have an a-maze-ing time. Watch our events calendar for future fun events for NEO STC members, families, and friends.
