Make a vital contribution to STC and our NEO STC chapter! You can help the chapter continue to achieve it’s award-winning service to its membership and community. In addition, you can increase your professional networking opportunities inside and outside the chapter, develop leadership acumen, and build on a skillset in a specific area.
If you are interested in volunteering, or would like to hear about other volunteer opportunities, we would love to hear from you! Please contact email@example.com.
College Speaking Engagements
Are you interested in talking to college students about what you do as a technical communications professional?
On occasion, we have opportunities during the year for our NEO STC members to volunteer by speaking about their experiences in the profession to students. It is a way to educate northeast Ohio students about what they can do with their degrees after they graduate, inform them about opportunities/directions in the field, and get them interested in technical communications as a career.
If you are interested, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org with your name, e-mail address, and your background (this could be in the form of a resume or a brief bio). We will review what you send to us, and if there is a fit for a future opportunity, we will reach out to you to gauge your availability!
NEO STC Academic Relations Team: Janean Voss and Lynn Nickels
NEO STC has an opening available for a Workshops Committee chairperson.
For more information about the duties of this committee, see the recent “Five Questions” article with Tricia Spayer and Amy Vogt, who ran workshops in 2013-14. Planning a workshop usually begins about three or four months before the workshop date.
Please contact Lisa Mileusnich if you are interested in volunteering. You can recruit a friend and make it a co-chair experience!
