Introducing the NEO STC Slack Group

Did you hear? NEO STC has a member-exclusive group on Slack which serves as a real-time communication tool that allows you to chat directly with officers and members. Further, Tricia Spayer, NEO STC Vice President, has set up integrations for the NEO STC Google calendar of events and the STC Notebook to keep you in the know. Check out this wonderful tool at If you would like to use the Slack desktop app, visit for instructions on how to download the app.

If you missed the mini-webinar we made as an introduction to Slack, it was full of tips for setting up Slack with information on the desktop app, notifications, unfollowing channels, and more. You can check it out below:

For even more tips and tricks on how to get the most out of Slack, check out Slack’s official blog. One post I found most helpful, Neat features that maximize Slack, describes Slack features such as searching, updating your app theme, and setting reminders, to name a few. The blog is a great resource for learning the capabilities of Slack and how to make it work for you.

Our hope is that Slack opens the lines of communication between our members in a non-obtrusive way and encourages the sharing of industry-related information. And, there is a #random channel to allow us to share personal tidbits and get to know each other; be sure to introduce yourself, share photos, or any other #random tidbit.

It’s safe to say that we’re all professionals, but there are a few basic rules to keep our Slack group a positive and beneficial resource for all NEO STC members:

  • No soliciting.
  • Be courteous and respectful of yourself and others.

Questions? Ask in Slack! Chances are, someone else has the same question. Or, reach out to Tricia Spayer or myself (Sara Buchanan).

Special thanks to Tricia Spayer and Julianne Forsythe for all their work in getting the Slack group up and running!
