Bob Young, President
Bob Young is currently an Information Developer at Rockwell Automation. He has served in numerous NEO administrative positions, including past president, membership chair, and co-chair of the 2007 Cleveland Regional Conference. Bob helped to reinvigorate membership involvement programs, including recognition for service and longevity to the NEO STC community. Bob also has worked on the international level, chairing the 2017 Task Force to rekindle growth for STC chapters and is a veteran member of the Community Affairs Committee (CAC).
Bob’s commitment to the organization and profession is one reason for his being honored as the first Fellow from the Northeast Ohio chapter.
Bob is looking forward to serving again as chapter president. His primary goal this year is to bring in new members and continue working with higher-education institutions to draw recent graduates.
Jason Vensel, Immediate Past President
Jason Vensel works in the R&D department at DRB Systems. His professional experience includes researching and developing content for PCI compliance (PA-DSS and PCI DSS), administering project CSS3 and HTML 5 controls, and managing the project and version control tools used by the content development staff.
Jason is the current NEO STC immediate past president and public relations committee chair, and a former NEO STC Scholarship Competition judge and two-time STC International Summit Awards Competition judge. Jason enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife, 9 year-old son, 8 year-old son, and 4.5 year-old boy/girl twins.
His goals for the 2018-2019 chapter year include designing and deploying a new email template for NEO STC announcements, and engaging NEO colleges and students through social media.
Tricia Spayer, Vice President
Tricia Spayer has been Technical Writer/ Illustrator for Pressco Technology Inc. since 1996, in a department of one. Her job duties began with writing and illustration, and evolved to include marketing materials, photography, trade show posters, web design, content management system administration, and now videos.
Tricia is an STC Associate Fellow. She joined in 2000, immediately volunteered as part of the Membership Committee, and served in every executive role in NEO STC. She is currently Vice President for the second time. She also served the International Society as Director-at-Large on the STC Board of Directors, Chair of the Community Affairs Committee (CAC), and Chair of the Community Achievement Awards Evaluation and Pacesetter Committee.
Tricia loves to cruise with her husband, and Monte Carlo, her famous stuffed monkey. So far, they have been on 19 cruises to 45 countries, 60 ports of call, and look forward to their next trips! Of all the places Tricia has been so far, Alaska stands out as the most spectacular.
Her goal for NEO STC this year is to ensure all members are engaged, and getting the most out of their STC memberships, regardless of where they live. She is striving to open more discussion channels for the chapter.
Kathleen Gaughan, Treasurer
Kathleen Gaughan an Infrastructure Configuration Consultant in the Technology & Innovation organization at PNC Bank in Cleveland, OH. Her professional experience includes Configuration Management, Customer Focus, IT Quality Assurance, ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library), Manage Risk, Software Change Request Management, Software Product Installation and Support, and Knowledge Management.
Kathy is new member of NEO STC and is looking forward to working with STC leadership and opportunities to develop her skill in Technical Communication. She spends her summers gardening and watching the Cleveland Indians at Progressive Field. She is a member of Toastmasters Colorful Communicators Club in Strongsville, and volunteers with PNC Grow Up Great, and Saint Francis Xavier in Medina.
Her goal is to serve as Treasurer, get to know the Board, and help wherever she’s needed!
Lisa Scovern, Secretary
Lisa Scovern works at DRB Systems. She is entering her second term as Secretary. Lisa was the 2018 recipient of the NEO STC Rookie Volunteer of the Year, awarded to a new first year chapter volunteer for their outstanding efforts to help the community accomplish high goals.
